Anuj Agnihotri secures All-India Rank 1
Anuj Agnihotri has achieved a significant milestone by securing All-India Rank 1 in the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2025. This achievement comes after his third attempt at the prestigious examination.
Hailing from Rajasthan, Agnihotri’s journey has been marked by dedication and perseverance. He studied for approximately 13 hours daily without any coaching, showcasing his commitment to his goal of serving the public.
In total, 958 candidates successfully cleared the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2025, but Agnihotri’s top rank sets him apart. His academic background includes an MBBS degree from AIIMS Jodhpur, which he completed in 2023.
Agnihotri’s previous attempts at the examination were met with challenges, but he remained undeterred. He had cleared the Union Territories Civil Services (UTCS) examination in his first attempt in 2023 and was subsequently posted as a Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Delhi.
Reflecting on his journey, Agnihotri stated, “Initially, I was not clear about my aim in life. But I was sure that I want to serve the people and make an impact at the larger section of society with my work.” His mother has been a significant source of inspiration, motivating him to pursue a career dedicated to public service.
His father, Krishna Bihari, who works as a technician at the Rajasthan Atomic Power Station, expressed pride in his son’s achievement, stating, “We are proud of our son today. I am sure that he will be one of the best IAS officers in the country.”
Agnihotri’s academic excellence is further highlighted by his impressive 94 percent score in Class 12 from the Atomic Energy Central School in Rawatbhata.
Despite facing setbacks in his previous attempts, Agnihotri’s resilience has paid off. He remarked, “If I hadn’t succeeded this time, I would have continued preparing for the next attempt. It’s a process and there are ups and downs. Now that I have succeeded, everything feels much easier.”
As he embarks on this new chapter in his career, Agnihotri’s story serves as an inspiration to many aspiring civil servants across the nation.
