IISER 2026 Application Process Begins

The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) have officially launched the application process for the 2026 academic year, marking a significant opportunity for students aspiring to pursue advanced studies in science. The application window opened on 5 March 2026 and will remain accessible until 13 April 2026. This timeline is crucial for prospective candidates as it sets the stage for their future academic endeavors.

Following the application deadline, there will be an application correction window from 13 April to 15 April 2026. This period allows candidates to rectify any errors in their submitted applications, ensuring that all information is accurate before the final submission. It is advisable for candidates to take advantage of this window to confirm their details.

In preparation for the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) scheduled for 7 June 2026, candidates can expect their admit cards to be released on 24 May 2026. The IAT serves as the primary entrance examination for many applicants seeking admission into various programs, including BS-MS and BS degrees. The exam will be conducted in a computer-based mode, reflecting the modern approach to educational assessments.

Eligibility criteria for the IISER 2026 application are stringent. Candidates must have completed Class 12 or an equivalent examination with a focus on the science stream. Specifically, General and OBC-NCL candidates are required to secure at least 60% aggregate marks, while SC/ST/PwD candidates must achieve a minimum of 55% marks. Additionally, students must have studied at least three subjects among Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology to qualify for the application process.

The application forms are available at iiseradmission.in, where candidates can find detailed information about the application process and requirements. It is recommended that candidates complete their registration early to avoid any last-minute issues.

The IISER Aptitude Test plays a pivotal role in shaping the academic futures of many students in India, as it serves as a gateway to some of the most prestigious science programs in the country. The IISER institutions are renowned for their rigorous academic standards and research opportunities, making the application process highly competitive.

As the application process unfolds, candidates are encouraged to stay informed about any updates or changes. Details remain unconfirmed regarding any potential adjustments to the schedule or eligibility criteria, so prospective students should regularly check the official IISER website for the latest information.
