Recent Developments in SSC CGL 2025
On March 6, 2026, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) published a notice regarding the final vacancies for the SSC CGL 2025 examination. This announcement revealed a total of approximately 15,130 posts available for candidates.
As part of the selection process, candidates will undergo two rounds of online examinations: Tier-I and Tier-II. The exam dates for Tier-I are scheduled from September 12 to September 26, 2025, while Tier-II will take place on January 18 and 19, 2026.
Following the announcement, the Option-cum-Post Preference window for SSC CGL 2025 opened on March 9 and will remain accessible until March 12, 2026. Candidates are urged to submit their preferences during this six-day period.
It is crucial for candidates to note that those who do not submit their Option-cum-Preference will not be considered for the final merit list. As stated in the notice, “Candidates who do not submit their Option-cum-Preference during the period… will not be granted any further opportunities for submission.”
Additionally, candidates with disabilities (PwBD) must select preferences only for posts that are suitable for their specific disabilities. If a PwBD candidate is selected for an unsuitable post, their candidature will be canceled by the concerned User Department.
The total number of vacancies is distributed across various posts and categories, including UR, SC, ST, OBC, and EWS. This distribution reflects the commission’s commitment to providing equal opportunities across different demographics.
As candidates prepare to fill out their preferences, thoughtful consideration and strategic decision-making are crucial. It is essential to ensure that after filling in their preferences, candidates submit the form by clicking the ‘Submit’ button.
With the examination dates approaching, candidates are encouraged to stay informed and prepare adequately for the upcoming SSC CGL 2025 selection process. The successful completion of these exams will be pivotal for many aspiring government employees.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding any additional updates or changes to the examination schedule or vacancy distribution.
