NEET UG 2026 Registration Deadline Approaches

The registration window for the NEET UG 2026 examination, a critical step for aspiring medical students in India, is set to close on March 8, 2026. This deadline is significant as it marks the last opportunity for candidates to submit their online application forms.

Candidates must ensure their applications are completed by 9 PM on March 8, 2026, while the payment of the application fee will be accepted until 11:50 PM on the same day. This timeline is crucial for those seeking admission to various undergraduate medical programs, including MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and BSc Nursing.

The application process for NEET UG 2026 commenced on February 8, 2026, allowing candidates ample time to prepare their submissions. The NEET UG examination itself is scheduled for May 3, 2026, and will be conducted in an offline mode using a pen-and-paper format.

For candidates from different backgrounds, the application fees vary: ₹1,700 for the General category, ₹1,600 for General–EWS / OBC–NCL, ₹1,000 for SC / ST / PwBD / Third Gender, and ₹9,500 for those applying from outside India. These fees are a necessary part of the registration process, which is overseen by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Following the registration deadline, a correction window will be available from March 10 to March 12, 2026, allowing candidates to make necessary adjustments to their submitted forms. This feature is particularly beneficial for those who may have made errors during the application process.

NEET UG serves as the national-level entrance examination for admission to undergraduate medical programmes across India, making it a pivotal event for students aiming to enter the medical field. The results of this examination will play a crucial role in determining the future of thousands of candidates.

As the registration deadline approaches, candidates are urged to finalize their applications promptly to avoid any last-minute issues. The NTA’s management of this process is vital for ensuring a smooth examination cycle.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding any potential changes to the examination format or schedule, but candidates are advised to stay updated through official announcements from the NTA.
