Xiaomi 17 Ultra Launches in India
Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi 17 Series in India, unveiling two flagship smartphones — the Xiaomi 17 and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is positioned as a premium device, featuring a 6.9 inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and an impressive 3,500 nits peak brightness.
Weighing in at 218.4 grams, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra also boasts an IP68 rating, ensuring protection against dust and moisture. It is powered by a robust 6,000 mAh battery, supporting 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, which enhances its usability for consumers.
Camera capabilities are a standout feature of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, which includes a 1-inch LOFIC main camera sensor, a 50 MP main camera, a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens, and a 50 MP ultrawide lens. This advanced camera system is designed to push the boundaries of smartphone photography.
Sandeep Singh Arora, a representative from Xiaomi, commented, “Xiaomi 17 delivers a well-rounded flagship experience in a compact form factor, while Xiaomi 17 Ultra pushes the boundaries of smartphone photography with innovations like LOFIC sensor technology and continuous optical zoom.”
Additionally, the LOFIC sensor technology significantly increases the sensor’s full-well capacity, allowing it to preserve details across both extremes within a single image. The Ultra model also features a Leica 200MP telephoto system with 75–100mm mechanical optical zoom, enhancing its photographic capabilities.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is priced at ₹1,29,999, while the Xiaomi 17 starts at ₹89,999. Both models will be available starting March 18, 2026, and they run on Xiaomi HyperOS 3.5 out of the box.
In an interesting promotional offer, Xiaomi is providing a ‘Never Run Out’ promotion where the 512GB model will be priced the same as the 256GB variant during the launch period. This strategy aims to attract more customers to the new series.
As the launch date approaches, industry observers are keen to see how the Xiaomi 17 Ultra performs in the competitive smartphone market, especially with its advanced features and pricing strategy. Details remain unconfirmed regarding further promotional activities or additional features that may be revealed closer to the launch date.
