Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh Set for Release
The numbers
Pawan Kalyan’s highly anticipated film Ustaad Bhagat Singh is set to hit theaters on March 19, 2026, coinciding with the Ugadi festival. The film, directed by Harish Shankar, features notable actors Sreeleela and Raashii Khanna. Kalyan, who is also the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has dedicated significant time to this project, working nearly six hours a day for 45 days.
During the pre-launch event for Ustaad Bhagat Singh, Kalyan expressed his admiration for his brother and fellow actor Chiranjeevi, referring to him as his ultimate hero. “I feel very thankful to Harish Shankar for his commitment and effort despite many hurdles such as the pandemic, elections, and politics,” Kalyan stated, highlighting the challenges faced during production.
The film was first announced in September 2021 and officially launched in December 2022. Its release has been highly anticipated, especially after Kalyan’s party, Janasena, achieved a remarkable victory in the 2024 elections, winning all 23 seats it contested. This success marks a significant turnaround from the 2019 elections, where Janasena won only one seat out of 137 contested.
Kalyan’s political journey has been closely intertwined with his film career. He has not signed any new projects beyond Ustaad Bhagat Singh after June 2024, indicating a focus on his political responsibilities. The film has already received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification, and Kalyan’s entry scene has drawn particular attention in overseas censor screenings.
In his remarks, Kalyan also addressed the challenges of balancing his political role with his film career, stating, “I need cinema for financial sustenance and limit my film work to two hours a day.” This statement comes amid a petition arguing that a serving minister should not pursue commercial acting simultaneously.
As the release date approaches, excitement continues to build among fans and observers alike. Kalyan expressed hope that the audience will appreciate the film, saying, “I hope viewers will love the film and appreciate the way Harish Shankar has crafted it.” His dedication to both his political and cinematic endeavors remains a focal point of discussion.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding any future projects for Kalyan after Ustaad Bhagat Singh. However, the film’s release is expected to be a significant event for both his fans and the film industry.
