World Cup Group C live updates, scores: Scotland vs. Brazil, Morocco vs. Haiti
In

The 2026 World Cup has reached Matchday 3 of the group stage, with Groups A, B, and C in action as teams compete for spots in the knockout round. In Group C, a tight battle is unfolding between Brazil, Morocco, and Scotland, all of whom could potentially advance depending on the outcomes of their matches.

Brazil faced Scotland in a crucial encounter. Brazil, five-time World Cup winners, were looking to secure their place in the Round of 32. Scotland, on the other hand, aimed to qualify for the knockout rounds for the first time in their history. Coming into the match, Scotland was third in Group C with three points following a 1-0 loss to Morocco, needing at least a draw or a narrow loss against Brazil to progress from the group stage.

Brazil vs. Scotland Match Highlights

The match between Brazil and Scotland saw significant moments. Matheus Cunha scored for Brazil, slicing through the Scottish defense. This goal came after Vini Jr. had a chance for a hat trick, which was saved by Angus Gunn. Vini Jr. later scored Brazil’s second goal, heading in a cross after a defensive turnover by Scotland, making the score 2-0 at halftime. However, a goal by Vini Jr. was called back after a review determined a foul had occurred when he clipped Jack Hendry’s foot before gaining possession of the ball.

Scotland appeared more energetic after Brazil’s disallowed goal. The team was vulnerable to counter-attacks as they pushed for a goal. The halftime score of Brazil 2, Scotland 0 meant that Scotland had to be concerned about goal differential, which could be a deciding factor for teams tied on three points vying for a spot in the Round of 32.

Morocco vs. Haiti Encounter

In another Group C fixture, Morocco played Haiti in Atlanta. Morocco needed to overcome a four-goal deficit against Brazil to have a chance at winning the group. The first half of the Morocco-Haiti match provided several notable moments. Haiti, despite potentially being at the end of its talent run, had a strong first half. Wilson Isidor scored a magnificent goal, Haiti’s second of the match. This goal was described as one of the tournament’s best. Haiti also scored its first World Cup goal in decades during this match, a significant moment for the team, even if they were out of contention for the World Cup.

Morocco managed to tie the game at 2-2 just before halftime, with Ismael Saibari scoring. This marked three goals in seven minutes during a rapid exchange of scores. Earlier, Ismael Saibari had another opportunity but slid the ball just wide while stretching for a cross. Morocco controlled possession for periods, attempting to get back into the game, but registered only two shots in the first half. Haiti later retook the lead through another goal from Wilson Isidor. The match saw a lot of physicality, with officials allowing play to continue, leading to frustration from both sides over uncalled fouls.

Mexico is the only team playing on Wednesday that has already secured a knockout-round spot, having won Group C. South Korea will be aiming for a win against South Africa to secure their own place in the Round of 32.
