UP GDS Merit List 2026 Released
The UP GDS Merit List 2026 was declared on March 6, 2026, revealing a total of 28,740 vacancies for Gramin Dak Sevak positions in Uttar Pradesh. Candidates can download the selection PDF from indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.
Selection for these positions is based solely on Class 10 merit, with cut-offs for the General and OBC categories reaching as high as 97% to 100%. The cut-off percentages for various categories are as follows: 100% for General, 97.6% for OBC, 96.2% for EWS, 95.8% for SC, 92.4% for ST, and 88% for PwBD candidates.
There is no written examination for GDS posts; selection is purely merit-based. The merit list includes registration numbers and selected categories of candidates, allowing individuals to verify their status easily. Candidates can search their names using the ‘Ctrl+F’ function in the PDF.
Document Verification (DV) is scheduled to be completed by March 23, 2026. Shortlisted candidates must submit their original educational certificates during this verification process. The final appointment is contingent upon successful document verification.
As part of the January Schedule-I recruitment cycle, the UP GDS Merit List reflects the ongoing efforts by the Department of Posts to fill vacancies in rural postal services. Candidates are advised to attend document verification at their assigned postal division.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding any additional requirements or changes in the verification process. Observers expect that the successful completion of DV will lead to prompt appointments for the selected candidates.
