UP Scholarship Update: Second Installment Payment Scheduled

The Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department has announced that the second installment of the UP Scholarship for the 2025–26 academic session will be released on March 18, 2026. This initiative aims to provide financial support to students from various communities, including General, OBC, SC/ST, and minority groups.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the scholarship, Pre-Matric students must have a family income below ₹1 lakh annually, while Post-Matric students must not exceed a family income of ₹2 lakh per year. Additionally, SC/ST students have a slightly higher income limit of ₹2.5 lakh per year for eligibility.
Application Status Tracking
Students can check their application status on the official website scholarship.up.gov.in. It is essential for students to ensure their bank accounts are linked with Aadhaar to receive the scholarship payments through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
When tracking their application status, students may encounter various notifications. If the status shows ‘Pending at District Scholarship Committee’, it indicates that verification is still ongoing. A status of ‘Rejected’ suggests that there may be incorrect details or missing documents in the application. Conversely, if the status reads ‘Disbursed’, it confirms that the scholarship amount has been successfully transferred to the student’s bank account.
