Pm kisan 22nd installment
PM Kisan 22nd Installment to Benefit Over 9.32 Crore Farmers
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) from Guwahati, Assam, on March 13, 2026. This initiative will see an amount exceeding ₹18,640 crore transferred directly into the bank accounts of more than 9.32 crore farmer families across the country.
With this installment, the total financial assistance disbursed under the PM Kisan scheme will surpass ₹4.27 lakh crore. Each eligible farmer family receives ₹6,000 annually, distributed in three equal installments, aimed at providing crucial support for agricultural activities.
In this round, over 2.15 crore women farmers will also receive financial assistance, highlighting the government’s focus on empowering women in agriculture. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, a prominent figure in the initiative, stated, “This timely assistance helps farmers purchase essential agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides.”
The PM-KISAN scheme, launched in February 2019, has significantly boosted demand in the rural economy and reduced farmers’ dependence on debt. Chouhan emphasized, “The PM-KISAN scheme has boosted demand in the rural economy, reduced farmer’s dependence on debt and encouraged agricultural investment.”
Farmers can now complete their e-KYC from home using a face-authentication-based mobile app, making the process more accessible. Additionally, the ‘Know Your Status (KYS)’ module allows beneficiaries to check their payment status and eligibility, ensuring transparency in the system.
The government has also introduced a ‘Voluntary Surrender’ facility for affluent farmers to ensure that the benefits reach genuine farmers. A robust verification system is in place to remove ineligible or deceased beneficiaries from the list, further enhancing the integrity of the scheme.
Chouhan noted, “Prime Minister Shri Modi has placed special emphasis on ensuring that PM-KISAN benefits reach only genuine and eligible farmers,” reflecting the government’s commitment to supporting the agricultural sector. Under Modi’s leadership, the welfare of farmers has become a central focus of policy-making.
As the release date approaches, observers are keenly watching how this installment will impact the agricultural landscape and rural economy. Details remain unconfirmed regarding any additional measures that may be introduced alongside this installment.
