The cricket IPL 2026 season is set to kick off on March 28, 2026, with the opening match featuring Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

In a notable development, Abrar Ahmed was signed by Sunrisers Leeds for 190,000 pounds (approximately $254,000) during the Hundred auction.
