By Rohan Mehta / 28.04.2026
Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s bowlers dismantled Delhi Capitals, reducing them to a shocking eight for six in the early overs. The match took place at Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 27, 2026. Delhi Capitals currently sit sixth on the points table with three wins from seven matches. In contrast, Royal Challengers Bengaluru are in second place with five wins from seven games.
Delhi Capitals lost to Punjab Kings in their previous match. They struggled against the bowling attack of Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood each took three wickets during the match. Hazlewood finished with remarkable figures of 3.3-0-12-4.
Delhi Capitals scored only 75 runs in this encounter. Their innings ended dramatically at eight for six after just 3.5 overs. Observers noted that Bhuvneshwar teased the batters with swing from a good length.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the match by nine wickets. KL Rahul had recently scored an unbeaten 152 against Punjab Kings, showcasing his form. Virat Kohli was also aiming for his milestone of 9,000 IPL runs during the match.
The atmosphere in the capital was electric as hometown hero Virat Kohli returned to his roots. Eoin Morgan remarked that “the surface is an absolute ‘batter’s paradise.'” If he carries forward this form, he could once again play a decisive role in upcoming matches.
Looking ahead, both teams will focus on improving their standings in IPL 2026. While Delhi Capitals need immediate adjustments, Royal Challengers Bengaluru will aim to maintain their momentum.
