Inter vs Parma: Inter Milan Secures 21st Serie A Title

Inter Milan secured their 21st Serie A title with a 2-0 victory over Parma on May 3, 2026, at San Siro in Milan. The win allowed Inter to clinch the championship with three games remaining.
Marcus Thuram opened the scoring in first-half added time. He placed an angled shot just beyond the reach of Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki. Henrikh Mkhitaryan added another goal in the 80th minute after receiving a pass from Lautaro Martinez, who returned from injury.
Inter dominated the match, holding 59% possession and recording five shots on target compared to Parma’s none. This victory moved Inter 12 points clear of defending champions Napoli.
Cristian Chivu celebrated his first major prize as a coach. He emphasized the team’s desire to “kill off” the Scudetto as soon as possible. This title marks Inter’s first since winning it in 2024.
In their last six matches before this game, Inter scored an impressive 19 goals. The team needed just one point to secure the Scudetto prior to this match.
Parma had already ensured their safety in Serie A before facing Inter. Despite their loss, they managed to maintain their league status.
The next challenge for Inter will be to maintain their form as they prepare for upcoming fixtures. Their focus will remain on solidifying their lead and preparing for next season’s campaign.
