“The Cornhuskers made history with their first NCAA tournament win in program history as they throttled Troy with a dominant performance on both ends of the floor,” reported Brooke Pryor.
The 2026 NCAA tournament kicked off with selections on March 15, 2026, and the first round is taking place on March 19 and 20, 2026. This year’s tournament has already showcased thrilling performances, including Nebraska’s landmark victory.
Nebraska’s victory against Troy was particularly significant as it marked the program’s first win in NCAA tournament history. The Cornhuskers shot 14-of-39 from beyond the arc, with Pryce Sandfort setting a program record with seven three-pointers in the game.
In another notable matchup, Miami (Ohio) made headlines by sinking 16 three-pointers in their First Four win against SMU, demonstrating their offensive prowess early in the tournament.
The tournament features a variety of exciting matchups, including Siena vs. Duke, which is set to begin at 2:50 PM. Other first-round games include McNeese vs. Vanderbilt and North Dakota State vs. Michigan State.
TCU also had a thrilling game against Ohio State, where they emerged victorious thanks to a last-second play. David Hale noted, “Punch was the late-game hero for the Horned Frogs, racking up 13 of his 16 points, seven of his 13 rebounds and two assists in the second half to keep his team dancing.”
As the tournament progresses, the Final Four is scheduled to take place on April 4 and 6, 2026, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Fans are eagerly anticipating which teams will advance to this prestigious stage.
The tournament continues to capture the attention of college basketball enthusiasts, with many following along for live updates and game highlights. “Follow along as they and the rest of the staff track all the live action on Thursday, with more games left to tip,” the announcement stated.
With captivating storylines emerging, including the dominance of the freshman class and Miami (Ohio)’s perfect regular-season run, the 2026 Men’s March Madness promises to be a memorable event for teams and fans alike.
As the tournament unfolds, the excitement builds, and the quest for the championship continues.
