RCB vs SRH: Patidar Praises Kohli After Season Opener Victory
By Ananya Rao / 29.03.2026
“No words can describe Virat Kohli. When he is in, the team is always in the chase. He is the No. 1 batter,” said RCB captain Rajat Patidar following the team’s victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL 2026 season opener.
Jacob Duffy, making his debut, impressed with his bowling, taking three wickets. His performance was crucial in restricting SRH’s scoring opportunities. Patidar noted, “Awesome, hell of a way to start the campaign. Great win.”
SRH’s Ishan Kishan also had a standout performance, scoring 80 runs, but his efforts were not enough to clinch victory. Patidar acknowledged the importance of dismissing Kishan early, stating, “It was very important to get his wicket as soon as possible. Otherwise, if he keeps on going, it’s hard to stop him.”
Phil Salt made a notable contribution in the field, taking a catch to dismiss Kishan, which Patidar described as “a terrific catch by Salt. Even I was surprised but he is a great fielder.”
This match marked the beginning of the IPL 2026 season, setting a competitive tone for the tournament ahead. RCB’s strong performance against SRH will boost their confidence as they look forward to upcoming matches.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding the next fixtures, but RCB’s victory has certainly set high expectations for their campaign this season.
