The Indian stock market is experiencing high volatility amid the ongoing US-Israeli war with Iran. As part of this context, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will remain closed on March 26, 2026, in observance of Ram Navami. The stock market is closed today, March 3, 2026, on account of Holi. Both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will remain closed for trading today, resulting in no activity in the equity, equity derivatives, or other segments on these exchanges.

In addition, the commodity markets will experience a partial holiday. The Multi Commodity Exchange of India is shut for trading in the first session between 9 am and 5 pm, but trading will resume in the evening session from 5 pm to 11 pm today. Conversely, the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange will remain closed for both trading sessions.

The market will reopen on March 4, 2026, from 9.15 am to 3.30 pm, allowing traders to resume their activities following the holiday. This closure comes after a decline in market performance, with the BSE Sensex closing at 80,238.85, down by 1.29% on March 2, 2026. Similarly, the NSE closed at 24,865.70, reflecting a decrease of 1.24% on the same day.

This year, the BSE and NSE will be closed for multiple holidays, including an additional holiday declared on January 15 due to the Mumbai BMC elections. March is known for having several holidays for the stock market, impacting trading schedules and investor activities.
