Tesla CEO Elon Musk has stated that Tesla aims to maintain the largest fleet of autonomous vehicles, while Waymo operates remote assistance centers in multiple U.S. states and the Philippines.

Despite the optimism surrounding robotaxis, a 2025 Goldman Sachs report projected that while the technology could grow rapidly, it would still represent a small portion of the ride-share market by 2030. This suggests that while Uber and its competitors are making strides, widespread adoption may take longer than anticipated.

Observers note that the successful implementation of Khosrowshahi’s vision will depend heavily on regulatory approval, technological advancements, and the development of necessary infrastructure.
