TTD Updates: Legal Challenges and New Temple Projects

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is currently facing significant challenges, including a legal battle with Meta Platforms over a fine imposed by the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA). The CCPA has levied a ₹10 lakh fine on Meta for allowing listings of walkie-talkies on Facebook Marketplace, which was deemed a violation of consumer protection laws.

Amid these legal issues, TTD has announced the schedule for online bookings of darshan, seva, and accommodation tickets for June 2026. The ticket sales will commence on March 18, 2026, reflecting TTD’s ongoing commitment to managing visitor access to the revered Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple.

Furthermore, TTD has approved a significant project to create a gold-plated armour for the presiding deity at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple located in Ulwe, Mumbai. This project, which is estimated to cost ₹5.12 crore, will utilize nearly three kilograms of 24-carat gold from the TTD treasury.
