After 13 years of delays, Gautham Vasudev Menon’s film Dhruva Natchathiram has finally received clearance for release from the Madras High Court. The film stars Vikram and has an estimated budget of Rs.80 Crores. Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy presided over the court order for the film’s release.

The film’s release was delayed due to financial constraints and the Covid-19 pandemic. The revenue from the film will be routed through an escrow account as per the court’s order. This decision aims to ensure that all stakeholders receive their due payments.

Gautham Vasudev Menon faced numerous hurdles in bringing this project to fruition. He struggled with financial issues and creative differences with actors. The production has seen multiple changes, including three cinematographers: Manoj Paramahamsa, SR Kathir, and Vishnu Dev.

He stated, “There’s light at the end of the tunnel,” reflecting on the long struggle to bring Dhruva Natchathiram to audiences. The team also acknowledged Justice Ramamoorthy’s efforts in evolving a consensus among stakeholders before passing the order.

Despite past challenges, Gautham Vasudev Menon remains optimistic about the film’s future. He noted that “some men tried to destroy my career and stop my film from releasing.” This project represents not just his vision but also the hard work of more than a hundred people involved in its making.
