Sudha Reddy Shines at Met Gala 2026

Sudha Reddy attended the Met Gala 2026 wearing a stunning ensemble that fuses traditional Indian craftsmanship with contemporary couture. The event took place on May 4, 2026, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

Reddy’s outfit, titled ‘The Tree of Life,’ was designed in collaboration with renowned designer Manish Malhotra and stylist Mariel Haenn. It features intricate motifs inspired by Kalamkari traditions from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

“Hyderabad is not just my origin; it is a language, a rhythm, a way of being,” said Reddy, reflecting on her cultural roots. Her ensemble serves as a representation of Hyderabad culture on a global stage.

The ensemble highlights the artistry of Kalamkari textiles, which have been crafted for over 3000 years. These textiles often carry rich narratives and mythological themes through their designs.

Reddy complemented her outfit with an extravagant necklace valued at $15 million, featuring a remarkable 550-carat tanzanite. This piece further accentuates her commitment to showcasing Indian artistry.

As a prominent businesswoman and philanthropist, Sudha Reddy serves as the Director of Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) Group. She is also an active member of UNICEF’s International Council.

Reddy has previously represented India at prestigious events such as Cannes and the United Nations General Assembly. Her appearance at the Met Gala continues to solidify her role as an ambassador of Indian culture.
