Punjab Police Make Significant Drug and Terror Arrests
In a series of operations, the Punjab Police have recovered an RDX-laden IED, four pistols, and various narcotics, leading to the arrest of 14 individuals connected to foreign-based terror and drug modules. These efforts underscore the police’s ongoing commitment to combatting drug trafficking and terrorism in the region.
The Anti-Narcotics Task Force played a crucial role in these operations, successfully recovering 1,215 MDMA tablets and approximately 5.50 kilograms of narcotics. Such significant seizures highlight the persistent drug challenges faced by law enforcement in Punjab.
In addition to these operations, the Punjab Police have announced a recruitment drive aimed at bolstering their ranks. A total of 3,297 Constable vacancies will be available, with 2,522 positions in the District Police Cadre and 775 in the Armed Police Cadre.
The online application process for these Constable posts is set to commence on March 10, 2026. Candidates interested in applying must have completed Class 12 or an equivalent examination, with a minimum age of 18 and a maximum age of 28 years.
Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of Rs 19,900, which is expected to attract a significant number of applicants. This recruitment initiative aims to strengthen the police force across districts in Punjab, addressing both personnel shortages and the growing challenges of crime and drug-related issues.
As the Punjab Police continue their efforts to combat drug trafficking and terrorism, observers are keen to see the outcomes of these recent arrests and the impact of the upcoming recruitment drive on overall law enforcement capabilities in the region.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding the specific charges against the arrested individuals and the timeline for the upcoming recruitment process.
