Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Files Nomination for Rajya Sabha Elections
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has officially filed his nomination papers for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, solidifying his position as the leader of the state. This move comes amid recent speculation regarding his potential resignation, which has been fueled by the announcement of the Rajya Sabha polls by the Election Commission of India.
Chirag Paswan, a prominent political figure, has confirmed that Nitish Kumar will continue to lead Bihar, stating, “Nitish Kumar will continue to lead Bihar, and our double-engine government is working well.” This statement underscores the stability of Kumar’s leadership as the state prepares for the elections.
The scrutiny of the nomination papers is scheduled to take place tomorrow, with candidates having until March 9 to withdraw their nominations. The last date for submitting nominations is set for March 5, and voting for the Rajya Sabha seats is slated for March 16.
As the political landscape in Bihar evolves, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is still finalizing its candidates. Notably, the fifth candidate from the NDA in Bihar has yet to be confirmed, adding an element of uncertainty to the upcoming elections.
Historically, Nitish Kumar has been a significant figure in Bihar politics, having served as a member of both Houses of the Bihar Legislative Assembly and the Lok Sabha. His experience and political acumen have been crucial in navigating the complexities of state governance.
In light of the recent developments, Giriraj Singh remarked, “Such jokes are common on Holi. Nitish Kumar ji is our Chief Minister,” further emphasizing the ongoing support for Kumar’s leadership.
As the election date approaches, the political dynamics in Bihar will likely continue to shift. Details remain unconfirmed regarding the finalization of candidates and any potential changes in Kumar’s leadership role.
