The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has announced the results for the 2026 Sub-Inspector of Police preliminary examination, a significant development for the recruitment of 1,799 positions. This announcement comes after a rigorous examination process that saw participation from over 7.26 lakh candidates.

In total, 10,36,702 candidates registered for the preliminary examination, which took place across two shifts on January 18 and January 21, 2026. However, the competition was intense, with 29,272 candidates disqualified due to procedural errors and misconduct during the exam.

The BPSSC has shortlisted candidates up to 20 times the number of vacancies in each reservation category, ensuring a fair selection process. The results are available in PDF format on the official BPSSC website, allowing candidates to check their roll numbers against those shortlisted for the mains examination.

Details regarding the schedule for the mains examination and the issuance of admit cards will also be released on the BPSSC website in the coming days. Candidates must navigate multiple stages, including the main written examination, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST), and document verification, to secure their final selection.

This recruitment drive follows Advertisement No.05/2025, which was issued on September 23, 2025. The Bihar Police SI recruitment is one of the largest state-level police hiring drives, attracting lakhs of aspirants every year, highlighting the competitive nature of the process.

As the BPSSC prepares to move forward with the next phases of the recruitment process, candidates are advised to stay updated through the official website for any further announcements. Details remain unconfirmed regarding the specific dates for the mains examination and other subsequent steps in the selection process.
