Skoda Kushaq Facelift Launching in India
Skoda Auto India is set to launch the updated Kushaq facelift on March 20, 2026, following its global unveiling in January 2026. The new model introduces the Classic+ variant, which serves as the entry-level automatic trim for the Kushaq lineup.
The Classic+ variant boasts several modern features, including LED daytime running lights, projector headlamps, and LED tail lamps. Additionally, it comes equipped with a single-pane sunroof and alloy wheels, enhancing its appeal in the competitive midsize SUV market.
Inside, the Kushaq Classic+ features a touchscreen infotainment system and a multi-function steering wheel, catering to tech-savvy consumers. Under the hood, it offers a turbo petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and an 8-speed automatic option, a significant upgrade from the previous 6-speed torque converter.
The estimated price for the Kushaq Classic+ is around Rs 11.69 Lakh in Nagpur, making it a competitive option against rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Toyota HyRyder. The Classic+ variant is expected to deliver an ARAI-claimed mileage of 18.09 kmpl, which is a noteworthy figure for potential buyers.
Skoda’s decision to include features like a sunroof and alloy wheels in a base variant has generated excitement within the automotive community. “The automotive community is absolutely buzzing about Skoda’s decision to include a sunroof and alloy wheels on a base variant,” commented an industry analyst.
Safety remains a priority for Skoda, as the Kushaq has achieved a 5-star crash safety rating and includes features such as rain-sensing wipers. This focus on safety is crucial for consumers looking for reliable family vehicles.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding whether the air conditioning performance issues from the pre-facelift models have been permanently resolved. Additionally, the rear cabin space for three adults on long family road trips remains a topic of discussion among potential buyers.
As the launch date approaches, observers are keen to see how the Kushaq Classic+ performs in the market and whether it can attract a wider range of buyers in the midsize SUV segment.
