Tottenham vs crystal palace

Did Crystal Palace’s victory over Tottenham Hotspur signal a turning point for the team?
In a recent Premier League match held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Crystal Palace triumphed over Tottenham Hotspur with a score of 3-1. This outcome raises questions about the current state of Tottenham, who remain just one point above the relegation zone following this defeat.
Ismaila Sarr was the standout player for Crystal Palace, netting two goals during the match, while Jorgen Strand Larsen added another to secure the win. Dominic Solanke managed to score a consolation goal for Tottenham, but it was not enough to alter the course of the game.
The match was marked by a significant turning point when Micky van de Ven received a red card in the first half, leaving Tottenham with only ten men for the remainder of the match. This decision by the referee, who also awarded a penalty to Crystal Palace, proved crucial in the outcome.
Crystal Palace’s victory brings their total points to 38 from 29 games, placing them in 13th position in the league. In contrast, Tottenham’s struggles continue as they have not won a Premier League match since December 28, 2025, and now sit in 16th place with just 29 points.
After the match, Tottenham’s manager Igor Tudor expressed his disappointment, stating, “It was two games. After the red card, it was a second game. The second half we tried and I saw interesting things but I’m very disappointed like the fans.” He emphasized the need for hard work and belief in the team’s potential, saying, “After this game, I believe more than I did before. I know that sounds strange but I saw something in the team.”
Despite the loss, Tudor remains optimistic about the future, indicating that with the right players, the team can improve. He mentioned, “Even in the dressing room after the game. When we are complete and choose the right guys, I believe it will be good.” This sentiment reflects a determination to turn the season around.
The match had eight minutes of added time in the first half, contributing to the intensity of the game. As the season progresses, both teams will be looking to build on this performance, with Crystal Palace aiming to solidify their mid-table position and Tottenham fighting to avoid relegation.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding the immediate next steps for both teams, but the implications of this match will undoubtedly influence their strategies moving forward.
