F1TV: New Broadcasting Era Begins in 2026
By Ananya Rao / 08.03.2026
The 2026 Formula 1 season is a ‘reset’ year for the sport, featuring new engine regulations and car designs that are set to enhance the competitive landscape. This season also marks a significant shift in broadcasting partnerships, particularly in the United States.
Breaking Development
Starting in 2026, Apple TV will serve as the exclusive U.S. broadcaster for Formula 1, a move that has generated considerable excitement among fans. Eddy Cue, a senior executive at Apple, stated, “This weekend marks the start of a new era for Formula 1 fans in the U.S. We’re excited to bring every moment of the season to Apple TV, delivering an immersive experience designed entirely around fans.”
In addition to Apple TV, FanCode has been announced as the official broadcast partner for F1 in India, further expanding the sport’s reach. F1 TV Pro will offer ad-free coverage in 1080p, while F1 TV Premium will provide 4K Ultra HD streaming, ensuring that fans have access to high-quality viewing options.
What to Expect
The Australian Grand Prix, scheduled for March 8, 2026, will be one of the first races available through these new broadcasting arrangements. F1 TV Premium includes access to every F1 race live, along with practices and qualifying races, making it a comprehensive package for motorsport enthusiasts.
Pricing for F1 TV services varies, with the F1 Season Pass priced at ₹899 in India, while the Race Weekend Pass for the Australian GP will be available for ₹99. The F1 TV Pro is expected to cost approximately ₹2760, and F1 TV Premium around ₹3680, providing fans with various options to enjoy the season.
As the 2026 season approaches, observers are keen to see how these changes will impact viewership and fan engagement. The clarity and vibrant colors of the broadcasts are anticipated to transform every turn, overtake, and pit stop into cinema-quality viewing.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding additional features or potential partnerships that may emerge as the season unfolds. However, the shift to Apple TV and the enhancements offered by F1 TV signal a promising future for Formula 1 broadcasting.
