Thunder Triumph Over Warriors
The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Golden State Warriors 104-97 on March 7, 2026, marking a significant win that solidifies their position at the top of the Western Conference.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 27 points, showcasing his return to form after recovering from an abdominal strain. This victory extends Oklahoma City’s winning streak to five games since his return.
The Thunder’s strong performance was evident as they led 67-54 at halftime, demonstrating their offensive prowess. Isaiah Joe contributed significantly with 18 points, while Jaylin Williams added 9 points and 14 rebounds, further supporting the team’s efforts.
In contrast, the Golden State Warriors struggled without their star player, Stephen Curry, who missed his 13th consecutive game due to a right knee injury. This absence has been a critical factor in the Warriors’ recent performance, as they now hold a record of 32 wins and 30 losses, placing them 8th in the Western Conference.
Gui Santos was a bright spot for the Warriors, scoring 22 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, but it was not enough to overcome the Thunder’s lead. The Warriors shot 40.9% from the field, a statistic that reflects their challenges in capitalizing on scoring opportunities.
With this victory, the Thunder now boast an impressive record of 50 wins and 15 losses, further establishing their dominance in the league. Historically, the all-time series between these two teams favors the Thunder, who lead with 149 wins compared to the Warriors’ 124.
The Thunder’s ability to maintain their top position in the Western Conference, despite missing several players earlier in the season, speaks volumes about their depth and resilience.
As the season progresses, the Warriors will need to address their performance issues and find ways to adapt without Curry. The uncertainty surrounding his return adds to the challenges they face in the upcoming games.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding any potential trades or changes to the Warriors’ roster as they seek to improve their standing in the league.
