Jeremy Doku’s Commitment to Manchester City

“Manchester City are the best team in world football, so to be joining them is something very special for me and my family,” stated Jeremy Doku, reflecting on his move to the Premier League giants.

Doku, who joined Manchester City from Rennes in the summer of 2023 for a transfer fee of £55.5 million, has quickly established himself as a valuable player. Since his arrival, he has scored 17 goals and provided 32 assists in 116 matches for the club.

Currently under contract until 2028, Doku’s future at Manchester City has come under scrutiny as Atletico Madrid has expressed interest in signing him. This potential move raises questions about Doku’s long-term role at the club.

In light of this interest, Doku is reportedly planning to seek assurances regarding his position within the team. His desire to understand his future role is crucial, especially after making a return to the starting XI following a month out due to injury.

During an FA Cup match against Newcastle, Doku showcased his skills once again, highlighting his importance to the squad. He has started 66 games for Manchester City since joining, demonstrating his integration into Pep Guardiola’s plans.

Earlier this year, West Ham United made a verbal offer of £20 million for Doku, although the exact details of that offer remain unconfirmed. Doku’s decision to join Manchester City over West Ham was influenced by the opportunity to work under Guardiola and play alongside world-class players.

As discussions continue regarding his future, the outcome of talks between Doku and Manchester City this summer remains uncertain. The football community will be watching closely to see how this situation develops.

With Doku’s impressive performances and the interest from other clubs, it is clear that he is a player to watch in the coming months.
