The film was first announced in September 2021 and officially launched in December 2022. Its release has been highly anticipated, especially after Kalyan’s party, Janasena, achieved a remarkable victory in the 2024 elections, winning all 23 seats it contested. This success marks a significant turnaround from the 2019 elections, where Janasena won only one seat out of 137 contested.

Kalyan’s political journey has been closely intertwined with his film career. He has not signed any new projects beyond Ustaad Bhagat Singh after June 2024, indicating a focus on his political responsibilities. In his remarks, Kalyan also addressed the challenges of balancing his political role with his film career, stating, “I need cinema for financial sustenance and limit my film work to two hours a day.” This statement comes amid a petition arguing that a serving minister should not pursue commercial acting simultaneously.
