Renault Duster: A New Era for the Iconic SUV
The Renault Duster has long been a staple in the Indian automotive market, known for its rugged design and versatility. Previously, the model’s lineup primarily revolved around its established variants, which catered to a specific segment of buyers. However, expectations have shifted with the introduction of the new Duster, which aims to broaden its appeal.
Recently, Renault unveiled the updated Duster, starting with the Authentic variant priced at ₹10.29 lakh (ex-showroom). This marks a significant shift from the earlier pricing structure, which had limited options for entry-level buyers. The Authentic variant is now available in seven colors and includes essential safety features such as six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and hill start assist.
In addition to the Authentic variant, Renault has introduced several new trims, including the Evolution, Techno, Techno+, and Iconic variants, with prices ranging from ₹11.69 lakh to ₹16.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This diversification in pricing and features reflects Renault’s strategy to capture a larger market share in the competitive SUV segment.
One of the most notable changes is the introduction of two turbo-petrol engine options: a 1L engine producing 100hp and a more powerful 1.3L engine generating 163hp. This enhancement in performance is expected to attract buyers looking for a balance of power and efficiency.
Moreover, Renault plans to introduce a strong hybrid powertrain by Diwali 2026, indicating a commitment to sustainability and innovation in its offerings. This move aligns with global trends toward greener technologies in the automotive industry.
Experts suggest that these updates could significantly impact Renault’s market position in India, especially as the company has historically relied on models like the Kwid, Kiger, and Triber. The Duster’s revamped lineup may provide the necessary boost to enhance its visibility and competitiveness.
As the automotive landscape continues to evolve, the new Renault Duster stands out as a pivotal model for the brand, promising to meet the changing demands of Indian consumers.
