Baramulla Police Seizes 1.7 Kilograms of Charas

Baramulla Police recovered approximately 1.7 kilograms of charas in the Chichilora area of Kunzer during a routine patrol on March 24. One suspect was arrested, while another managed to escape.

The police intercepted a suspicious vehicle (HR55AD2930) during their patrol, leading to the recovery of 27 grams of charas from the driver, identified as Waheed Sultan. Further investigation revealed that approximately 1.690 kilograms of charas powder was recovered from the residence of the absconding suspect.

A case has been registered under FIR No. 35/2026 at Police Station Kunzer, as authorities continue to combat drug-related offenses in the region. Baramulla Police reiterated its commitment to curbing the drug menace, emphasizing the importance of ongoing efforts in this area.

In a separate incident, Jammu and Kashmir Police disposed of a live artillery shell found in the Kalgai forest area of Uri. A Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) team from Baramulla Police was deployed to neutralize and dispose of the shell, ensuring the safety of the surrounding area.
