The Gujarat Titans are set to begin their IPL 2026 campaign against the Punjab Kings on March 31, 2026, in Mullanpur. This match marks the start of a season filled with high expectations for the franchise.

Following their opener, the Titans will play their first home match on April 4 against the Rajasthan Royals. They will then face the Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on April 8, and the Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on April 12.

As the team prepares, head coach Sanjay Bangar has outlined potential strategies for the upcoming season. He emphasized the importance of key players, including Shahrukh Khan and Rahul Tewatia, who have been retained by the franchise.

Washington Sundar is expected to take on a significant batting role, possibly batting at number four in the order. Bangar also mentioned that Glenn Phillips will enhance the middle-order batting alongside Jos Buttler, creating a strong batting lineup.

Rashid Khan and Kagiso Rabada are identified as the primary overseas bowlers for the Titans, contributing to a balanced team that aims to combine batting strength with bowling prowess.

Bangar stated, “We hope Shahrukh Khan repays the faith shown by the GT management in him,” highlighting the management’s confidence in their players. He also noted, “One thing GT have done is persist with the players they selected in the first place.””>

In terms of strategy, Bangar suggested that if both Tewatia and Shahrukh play, one could be utilized as an impact player lower down the order. This flexibility could prove crucial in tight match situations.

The franchise is also launching the “Titans Fifer,” a season-long activation encouraging fans to predict game scenarios during the TATA IPL 2026. Fans will have the chance to earn points for generating tickets, with a total of 100 GT Points available for participation.

As the season approaches, the Gujarat Titans are focused on building a competitive team capable of making a strong impact in IPL 2026. Details remain unconfirmed regarding any last-minute changes to the squad or strategies.
