Fritz: Mary Lou Passes Away at 91

Mary Lou Fritz was born on October 28, 1934, in Fort Loudon, PA. She married Coey W. Fritz on May 24, 1953, and they shared a life together until his passing on January 29, 2011. Their only child, Coey William “Will” Fritz II, died tragically at the age of 19 on September 12, 1980.
Mary Lou graduated from Lemasters High School and later attended Chambersburg Business School. She had a successful career in the accounting departments of various companies, including Fairchild, York Telephone Co., Anvil Products, and Beck Manufacturing Co., from which she eventually retired.
A devoted member of both Fort Loudon United Church of Christ and St. Paul United Methodist Church, Mary Lou was known for her community involvement and her love for music, particularly practicing the organ. She also enjoyed walking and spending winters in Arizona.
Mary Lou is survived by three sisters and numerous nieces and nephews, who will remember her fondly. A memorial service is scheduled for April 19, 2026, at Menno Haven, a facility where she resided for the past seven years.
Burial will take place at Stenger Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends and family are encouraged to make memorial contributions to the address: 300 Ridgeview, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
As her community reflects on her life, the words of Jeannie Bruins resonate: “You don’t look a day over 90.” Mary Lou Fritz leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication that will be cherished by all who knew her.
