ctet result 2026 — IN news

Reaction from the field

The CTET Result 2026 has been officially released, marking a significant moment for aspiring teachers across the nation. Out of a total of 2,644,129 registered candidates, only 597,061, or 25.68%, have successfully qualified for the exam. This result comes after the examination was conducted on February 7 and 8, 2026, with a re-exam held on March 1, 2026.

To check their results, candidates are required to log in using their specific details on the official website, www.ctet.nic.in. The CTET Scorecard 2026 provides detailed information, including paper-wise marks, section-wise scores, and the overall qualifying status of the candidates. Those who have qualified will receive a certificate that holds lifetime validity, allowing them to apply for teaching positions in various institutions.

The qualifying criteria were set at 60% (90 marks) for General category candidates and 55% (82 marks) for OBC/SC/ST/PwD category candidates. This structured approach ensures that candidates meet the necessary standards for teaching roles in government schools, including Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVS), among others.

According to the data, a total of 2,324,625 candidates appeared for the CTET February examination, indicating a substantial participation rate. The breakdown of registrations reveals that 1,211,611 candidates registered for Paper 1, while 2,156,459 registered for Paper 2. The results have sparked a wave of interest among qualified candidates eager to explore teaching vacancies.

“The CTET Result 2026 is out! If you’ve qualified, make sure to download your certificate right away and start exploring teaching vacancies in schools like KVS, NVS, and other recognised state and private institutions,” a spokesperson noted. This statement reflects the urgency for candidates to act promptly in securing their desired teaching positions.

Furthermore, the CTET eligibility certificate is recognized not only in central government schools but also in state schools and various other institutions, including those under Union Territories and several government-aided institutions. This broad acceptance enhances the opportunities available for qualified candidates.

As candidates prepare to download their certificates and apply for teaching roles, the landscape of education in India continues to evolve. The CTET qualification is a crucial step for those aiming to teach primary (Classes 1–5) and upper primary (Classes 6–8) levels. Candidates are encouraged to utilize platforms like DigiLocker for easy access to their CTET certificates and marksheets.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding the next steps for candidates who did not qualify, but it is expected that they will have opportunities to retake the exam in future sessions. The education sector remains dynamic, and further developments are anticipated as the new academic year approaches.
