CSK vs KKR: IPL 2026 Match Preview
By Rohan Mehta / 14.04.2026
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 14, 2026, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, with the match starting at 7:30 PM IST. CSK holds a significant advantage in their historical rivalry, having won 20 out of the 32 matches played between the two teams.
Currently, KKR is struggling in IPL 2026, sitting at the bottom of the points table with no wins from their four matches. In contrast, CSK recently secured a victory against Delhi Capitals by 23 runs, with Sanju Samson impressively scoring 115 not out in that match.
The MA Chidambaram Stadium, which has a capacity of 38,000, is expected to provide a favorable pitch for batting, potentially benefiting the strong batting lineup of CSK. Their probable playing XI includes key players such as Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, and Shivam Dube.
On the other hand, KKR’s lineup may feature Ajinkya Rahane, Finn Allen, and Sunil Narine as they look to turn their fortunes around. The team has faced three defeats in IPL 2026 so far, raising concerns about their performance.
CSK’s last encounter with KKR resulted in a win on May 7, 2025, further solidifying their dominance in this rivalry. Observers are keen to see if KKR can break their losing streak and if CSK can maintain their winning momentum.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding MS Dhoni’s return to action, and Varun Chakaravarthy’s availability for the match is also uncertain. Both teams will be looking to make a statement as they compete for crucial points in the tournament.
