CUET UG 2026 City Intimation Slip Causes Student Outrage

The release of the CUET UG City Intimation Slip on April 29, 2026, has sparked outrage among students across India. Many candidates found themselves assigned to distant exam cities, raising concerns about travel costs and preparation stress.

Before this development, students expected to take the CUET UG exam in locations closer to home. The National Testing Agency (NTA) had indicated that candidates could choose from four locations in their application. However, this expectation shifted dramatically with the slip’s release.

The CUET UG 2026 exam is scheduled from May 11 to May 31, 2026. Candidates can download their city intimation slip from the official website cuet.nta.nic.in. Yet, this slip does not serve as an admit card and does not grant entry to the exam hall.

Many candidates reported being assigned cities far from their homes. This situation has raised significant financial and logistical concerns for them. One anonymous candidate expressed frustration, saying, “I don’t know how a poor student like me will manage the expenses, especially in this extreme heat.”

The NTA stated it would not entertain requests for rescheduling exam dates or shifts. This decision adds to the logistical burden faced by students who must now make travel arrangements for potentially long distances.

The city intimation slip plays a key role in helping students avoid last-minute confusion regarding their exam logistics. Students must now navigate these challenges while preparing for a crucial entrance test.

The CUET UG is a significant entrance test for university admissions in India and is conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across multiple shifts. It will be held in approximately 280 cities nationwide.
