Delhi and several other states in India are facing extreme heat conditions today, with temperatures soaring above 40°C. The northern hills are experiencing intermittent rainfall and possible snowfall.

Delhi is expected to reach a maximum temperature of 40°C, accompanied by light to moderate rain and thunderstorms. In Hyderabad, the temperature will peak at 41°C, presenting dry heat with occasional gusty winds. Kolkata could see moderate rain chances with a maximum of 34°C.

Chennai’s forecast indicates a high of 35°C along with isolated coastal showers. Rajasthan is experiencing extreme heat pockets, recording temperatures above 42°C. Uttar Pradesh will have persistent warm conditions, reaching up to 40°C.

In Jammu and Kashmir, light rain and possible snowfall in higher altitudes are anticipated, with temperatures ranging from 7°C to 15°C. Ahmedabad is one of the hottest cities today, reporting a maximum temperature of 43°C.

The Delhi-NCR region is under a yellow alert for high heat stress, with expected temperatures between 40–42°C. Urban heat stress is increasing across India, affecting travel, health, and electricity demand.

Officials have noted that temperatures in many cities are fluctuating between a minimum of 24°C and a maximum of 43°C. The average first-innings total at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium during IPL matches this season is around 202.

The ongoing weather patterns reflect a sharp shift as heat levels climb across several states while northern regions show signs of precipitation.
