The Yamaha Factor DX launched in Brazil on May 5, 2026. This new model stands out for its ability to run on 100% ethanol. It aligns with global trends towards sustainable fuel options.

Before this development, Yamaha’s offerings primarily included traditional fuel options. The Brazilian motorcycle market has seen a growing demand for eco-friendly solutions. The introduction of flex fuel technology marks a significant shift.

The Factor DX is priced at BRL 18,990. It can operate on various blends of petrol and ethanol. This flexibility enhances its appeal among consumers.

Key features of the Factor DX include:

• A 149cc single-cylinder engine rated at 11.8 bhp with petrol and 12 bhp with ethanol.
• A kerb weight of 133 kg and a fuel tank capacity of 15.4 liters.
• Pack Plus accessories such as USB charging ports and a main stand.

The motorcycle also has a seat height of 785 mm and minimum ground clearance of 170 mm. It features LED DRLs, revised graphics, and painted wheels.

Experts note that the Factor DX could reshape consumer preferences in Brazil’s competitive commuter motorcycles segment. Yamaha’s FZ series has already established a strong presence in this market.

However, uncertainties remain about whether Yamaha will launch the Factor DX in India. No timeline for such an expansion has been shared by officials.
