Cbse board exams middle east class 10
Changes in CBSE Board Exams for Class 10
Before the recent announcement, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had scheduled Class 10 board exams to take place from March 7 to March 11, 2026, in the Middle East. This was part of the regular examination cycle for approximately 44 lakh students appearing for the exams this year.
However, on March 5, 2026, CBSE made a decisive move to cancel these exams, citing ongoing situational concerns in parts of the Middle East, particularly linked to the Iran–Israel conflict. This decision also affected previously postponed exams that were scheduled for March 2, March 5, and March 6, 2026.
The cancellation impacts students in several countries, including Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The board has emphasized that these measures were taken after a thorough evaluation of prevailing conditions, prioritizing the safety and well-being of students and examination staff.
In addition to the Class 10 cancellations, the Class 12 exam scheduled for March 7, 2026, has also been postponed. This has left many students and educators in a state of uncertainty regarding the academic calendar.
CBSE has stated that it will review the situation on March 7, 2026, and issue further directions regarding exams planned from March 9, 2026, onwards. Students have been advised to remain in contact with their schools and monitor updates from authorized sources to avoid misinformation.
As for the Class 10 results, CBSE will later announce how these will be prepared for students in the region, ensuring that the assessment process remains fair despite the cancellations. Details remain unconfirmed.
The exams had commenced on February 17, 2026, and the abrupt changes have raised questions about the impact on students’ academic progress and future opportunities.
As the situation evolves, it is crucial for students and parents to stay informed and prepared for any further announcements from the CBSE regarding their examinations.
