What does FanCode’s partnership with Formula 1 mean for Indian fans?
FanCode has been named the official broadcast partner for Formula 1 in India for the 2026 season, a significant development that underscores the growing popularity of the sport in the country. This partnership will allow fans to access all 24 races of the season through the platform.
The F1 Season Pass is priced at ₹899, while a Race Weekend Pass for the Australian Grand Prix is available for ₹99. This pricing strategy aims to make Formula 1 more accessible to a broader audience in India.
Growth of Formula 1 Fandom in India
Recent statistics reveal that Formula 1 fandom in India has surged from 60 million in 2024 to 78.8 million in 2026. This increase reflects a growing interest in motorsports, driven in part by FanCode’s efforts to engage fans through digital platforms.
Yannick Colaco, a representative from FanCode, noted, “The platform has doubled its user base from 100 million in 2024 to over 200 million today.” This rapid growth indicates a shift in how fans consume sports content, with many opting for streaming services over traditional broadcasting.
Changes in the 2026 Formula 1 Season
The 2026 Formula 1 season will feature an 11-team grid with 22 drivers, along with revised aerodynamic rules aimed at reducing dirty air for closer racing. Additionally, updated power unit regulations will introduce greater electrical deployment and sustainable fuels, aligning with global trends towards sustainability.
Streaming on FanCode will be limited to 1080p at 50 FPS, ensuring a high-quality viewing experience for fans. This technical specification is part of FanCode’s commitment to providing an engaging platform for sports enthusiasts.
Looking Ahead
As the 2026 season approaches, the collaboration between FanCode and Formula 1 is set to enhance the viewing experience for Indian fans. The partnership not only reflects the growing interest in motorsports but also highlights FanCode’s role in shaping the future of sports broadcasting in India.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding additional features or exclusive content that may be offered through FanCode during the F1 season. However, the current trajectory suggests a promising future for both the platform and the sport in the region.
