The Indian cricket team has achieved a remarkable milestone by winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, defeating New Zealand by 96 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This victory marks India’s third T20 World Cup title, a significant achievement for the team and its supporters.
In a commanding performance, India posted a total of 255 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their 20 overs. New Zealand, in response, was bowled out for 159 runs. Jasprit Bumrah played a pivotal role in the final, taking four wickets for just 27 runs, earning him the title of player of the final.
Sanju Samson’s outstanding performance throughout the tournament was recognized as he was named player of the tournament, scoring 89 runs in the final match. The Indian team’s victory is particularly poignant, as it comes two years after they lost the 50-over World Cup final at the same venue.
Shri Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, expressed his pride in the team’s achievement, stating, “Champions! Congratulations to the Indian team on winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup! This remarkable triumph reflects exceptional skills, determination, and teamwork. They have shown outstanding grit through the tournament.”

Axar Patel also made a notable contribution to the match, taking three wickets and helping to restrict New Zealand’s scoring. The Indian cricket team has now become the first team to win the T20 World Cup on home soil, adding another feather to their illustrious cap.
As the celebrations continue, cricket analysts and fans alike are eager to see how this victory will influence the future of Indian cricket. The team’s performance has set a high standard and raised expectations for upcoming tournaments.
