Carlos Alcaraz Continues Dominance with Win at Indian Wells
Carlos Alcaraz has improved his record to 14-0 this season after defeating Arthur Rinderknech in a closely contested match at Indian Wells, California. Alcaraz won with a score of 6-7(6), 6-3, 6-2, showcasing his resilience and skill on the court.
This victory marks Alcaraz’s continuation of a remarkable 32-match winning streak on outdoor hard courts, a run that began at the Miami Open last year. His performance has solidified his status as one of the top players in the sport.
Alcaraz’s success this season follows his recent triumphs, including winning titles at the Australian Open and Doha. He has now accumulated a total of seven Grand Slam titles, making history as the youngest man to complete the career Grand Slam with his victory at the 2026 Australian Open.
Juan Carlos Ferrero, Alcaraz’s coach, has expressed confidence in his ability to surpass the Grand Slam totals of legends such as Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer. Ferrero stated, “The key will be that when motivation drops, discipline will guide him. That’s what Novak has done brilliantly throughout his career.”
Alcaraz holds a perfect 6-0 record against Rinderknech in their head-to-head matches, further emphasizing his dominance over the French player. After the match, Alcaraz commented, “I got in trouble, to be honest, but just really happy with the way that I dealt with everything that was happening.”
Despite his success, Alcaraz mentioned a minor ankle concern that he plans to have checked by his physiotherapist. He expressed optimism about his condition, stating, “I moved in the third set perfectly, so hopefully tomorrow is going to be like nothing at all.”
Looking ahead, Alcaraz is set to face Casper Ruud in the last-16 round, a matchup that promises to be another exciting chapter in his ongoing season. As he continues to build on his impressive record, fans are eager to see how far he can go in this tournament.
