RCB began IPL 2026 in commanding fashion, brushing aside SRH. In the tournament opener held at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 6 wickets.
RCB chased down a target of 202 runs in just 15.4 overs, showcasing their batting prowess. Virat Kohli led the charge with an unbeaten 69 runs off 38 balls, while Devdutt Padikkal contributed significantly with 61 runs off 26 balls. The duo formed a crucial 101-run partnership that set the tone for the chase.
On the other hand, Ishan Kishan was the standout performer for SRH, scoring 80 runs. Despite his efforts, SRH could only manage to post a total of 201 runs for 9 wickets.
Jacob Duffy made an impressive debut, taking 3 wickets for 22 runs and was named Player of the Match for his brilliant bowling performance.
