Nitish Rana Reunites with Digvesh Rathi Ahead of IPL 2026 Clash
By Rohan Mehta / 04.04.2026
Nitish Rana and Digvesh Rathi have reconciled ahead of the IPL 2026 clash between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants, marking a significant turn in their relationship following a heated confrontation during the DPL 2025 Eliminator.
The confrontation occurred when Rathi interrupted Rana’s run-up, leading to a heated exchange that resulted in both players facing penalties. Rathi was fined 80% of his match fees for conduct contrary to the spirit of the game, while Rana was docked 50% of his match fees for making an obscene gesture.
During the DPL 2025 Eliminator, Rana had an impressive performance, scoring a century as he helped his team chase a target of 202 runs, which the West Delhi Lions achieved in just 17.1 overs.
Rana’s move to Delhi Capitals from Rajasthan Royals in exchange for Donovan Ferreira was a significant shift in his career, while Rathi was retained by Lucknow Super Giants after an impressive debut IPL season in 2025, where he took 14 wickets in 13 matches.
The reunion of Rana and Rathi is seen as a welcome end to their rivalry, which had become one of the most talked-about incidents of the domestic T20 season.
Rana expressed his growth since the incident, stating, “I had self-doubts in 2016, I am more sorted now.” This reflects his maturity and readiness to move forward in his career.
As both players prepare for the upcoming match, the atmosphere is expected to be charged with anticipation, given their past. Fans and analysts alike are keen to see how this reconciliation will affect their performances on the field.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding any further developments in their relationship or potential impacts on team dynamics as the IPL season progresses.
