Psg vs lorient
By Vikram Nair / 03.05.2026
Paris Saint-Germain will host FC Lorient on May 2, 2026, at Parc des Princes. PSG is under pressure to secure a win against Lorient while preparing for a crucial Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich.
PSG currently leads Ligue 1 with 69 points and holds a six-point advantage over their closest rival. They have scored in 21 consecutive matches across Ligue 1 and the Champions League. However, the team recently faced criticism after a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Lyon.
Lorient sits in ninth place in Ligue 1 and has little to play for, having won only three times in their last ten league games. The last encounter between these teams ended in a 1-1 draw. In their previous match, Lorient conceded two stoppage-time goals in a 3-2 loss to Strasbourg.
Kang-in Lee has contributed four goals and five assists in 36 competitive appearances this season for PSG. Yet, he has not scored or assisted in his last ten matches. Observers expect PSG to rotate their squad ahead of the Champions League clash.
Key statistics:
- PSG’s current points in Ligue 1: 69
- Lorient’s position in Ligue 1: ninth
- PSG’s lead over closest rival: six points
- Consecutive matches PSG has scored in: 21
- Lorient’s wins in last ten league games: three
Officials believe if PSG wins and their closest rival drops points, the path toward a 14th league title becomes almost inevitable. Both teams will compete for maximum points until the final whistle.
